Honda is recalling the CBR1000R-R SP Fireblade because there could be damage to the oil cooler pipe. The oil could get on the rear tire.

Radiated heat could be too high

Especially when riding slowly or behind a truck, the necessary airflow could be missing, causing the exhaust system to get too hot.

The radiating heat from the exhaust system and subsequent overheating of the oil cooler pipe could eventually cause it to break, resulting in oil loss. The oil could also get onto the rear tire.

Models manufactured between April 28 and October 04, 2021 are affected.

Necessary parts currently not available

Problems have already been reported in the Japanese market, in America and also in Europe. Honda plans to solve the problem with an additional heat shield. However, since the parts are not yet available, only dealers and owners are currently being informed about the recall.

Honda recommends owners not let the engine rev above 5,000 rpm in 1st gear. As soon as the necessary parts are available, the additional heat shield should then be installed.
