Zero Motorcycles at EICMA 2025: New LS1 urban scooter and the updated model range for 2026

Zero Motorcycles unveiled a comprehensive update to its electric motorcycle range at EICMA 2025 in Milan. The focus is on the brand-new Urban Scooter LS1, flanked by an extensively revised model range for the 2026 model year and the visionary Lompico Concept, which offers a glimpse of upcoming technologies and design lines.

Electric mobility for the city: The new Zero LS1

With the Zero LS1, the manufacturer is launching an urban solution that has been specially developed for everyday use in city traffic. The scooter combines modern looks with practical details and, according to Zero Motorcycles, offers high efficiency with compact dimensions.

The LS1 has two replaceable batteries housed in the vehicle floor. This allows for convenient access and is designed to provide a longer range. The battery system can be flexibly charged at home, in the office, or at public stations. An optional quick charger reduces the charging time from 0 to 90 percent to around 2.6 hours.

With its low center of gravity thanks to a centrally mounted motor, a short wheelbase, and low seat height, the scooter focuses on agile and balanced handling. ABS and traction control (TCS) are standard features for safety in urban environments.

The variable storage space concept is particularly striking: there is room for either two helmets or a third, additional battery under the seat. According to the manufacturer, this option extends the range to up to 173 kilometers.

Zero Motorcycles CEO Pierre-Martin Bos emphasizes that the LS1 reflects the company’s core values of performance and precision and is designed to make electric mobility accessible to a wider audience.

Revised model range for 2026: New technology and more choice

Zero Motorcycles is expanding its product range for the 2026 model year with numerous technical updates and a fresh design for existing models. The new range covers a variety of applications, from city traffic to long distances and off-road riding.

The innovations include the following in detail:

  • DSR/X: The adventure touring platform features revised driver assistance systems and optimized power delivery.
  • DSR/X Black Forest: This model is now equipped with a 6 kW fast charger as standard.
  • S & DS: Both models now feature a 3.3 kW on-board charger and a battery with a capacity of 15.6 kWh (previously 14.4 kWh), which should enable a longer range and shorter charging times.
  • SR/F: The naked bike receives an aerodynamic update with new front fairing and side winglets inspired by Quickstrike accessories.
  • X-Line / XE & XB: The X series, introduced in 2025, expands the range for off-road use. The XE (A1 class) delivers 635 Nm of torque and reaches a top speed of 85 km/h. It weighs 101 kg (approximately 223 lbs). The XB (AM class) weighs 63 kg (approximately 139 lbs), offers 373 Nm of torque and a top speed of 45 km/h.

With their technical improvements, charging options and ranges, the new models are designed to be even better tailored to different requirements and appeal to riders with different needs and levels of experience.

Vision for the future: The Lompico Concept

With the Lompico Concept, Zero Motorcycles offers a glimpse into future developments in the field of electric mobility. The concept vehicle is based on the newly developed Cypher 4 operating system, which promises advanced connectivity and adaptive control. The projected battery capacity is 8.8 kWh, with a peak power output of around 30 kW (approximately 40 hp).

Other features include a fast-charging function for 0 to 80 percent in less than an hour and a lightweight chassis with advanced drive and suspension systems. Lompico is intended to offer a glimpse of a new generation of electric motorcycles that more closely combines technology, design, and riding experience.

Conclusion

With the urban LS1, the revised models for 2026, and the Lompico Concept, Zero Motorcycles presents a versatile portfolio and is committed to consistent further development in the field of electric two-wheelers. By combining everyday-use technology, expanded charging options, and forward-looking concepts, the company continues to position itself as a pioneer in the field of electric motorcycles.
