The new model stands out above all thanks to a radically redesigned aerodynamic package with large winglets, which, according to Kawasaki, are designed to increase downforce by around 25 percent. This change improves the feel of the front wheel when cornering and supports more stable handling at high speeds. The winglets, along with the repositioned ram-air intake and hybrid headlights, give the 2026 ZX-10R a striking new look.
Engine, performance, and emissions standard
Both models continue to be powered by a 998 cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine. Engine power remains unchanged at 204 hp (150 kW) at the corresponding rpm, making the ZX-10R one of the most powerful motorcycles in its class. According to the manufacturer, the engine offers an optimal balance between spontaneous power delivery and good controllability. Among other things, a second oxygen sensor has been integrated to meet the new Euro 5+ emissions standard, which is intended to improve emission values without changing the characteristic power feel.
Revised chassis and improved electronics
The chassis has been tuned with the new aerodynamics in mind. Modified geometry values, in combination with the winglets, provide more traction at the rear wheel and better cornering stability. The WorldSBK-proven Showa BFF (Balance Free Front Fork) and BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion) shock absorbers are designed for race track setups and support weight transfer between the front and rear wheels.
Braking is provided by Brembo M50 monobloc calipers with radial master cylinder and large 330 mm brake discs at the front.
Modern display, connectivity, and assistance systems
The cockpit has been modernized and now features a five-inch, full-color TFT display. This not only offers high-quality display, but also advanced features such as turn-by-turn navigation and voice control. The “Rideology The App Motorcycle” app allows the motorcycle to be connected wirelessly to a smartphone to access a variety of settings and information.

The Ninja ZX-10RR – Track-oriented special model
Designed for racetrack use, the Ninja ZX-10RR will remain the exclusive limited-edition single-seat model in 2026. It continues to feature lightweight pistons and titanium connecting rods from Pankl, steel-braided brake lines at the front, and an adjustable Öhlins steering damper with twin-tube construction. The chassis tuning is further optimized for maximum racetrack performance.
Colors and availability
The Ninja ZX-10R is available in Lime Green/Blue 24 and a combination of Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray, Metallic Spark Black, and Lime Green. The ZX-10RR is available exclusively in Lime Green.
The market launch of the two new models is planned for spring 2026. Prices have not yet been determined.
