Yamaha has presented the XSR700 Legacy at the EICMA, which is based on MT-07.  The scrambler variant differs from the sister model XSR700 XTribute only in details.  There is also an XSR125.

700cc twin sisters

The XSR XTribute and the XSR700 Legacy could almost be called twin sisters.  Small differences can only be seen in the details, although the XTribute was already introduced in 2018, the Legacy only in 2022.

On the new model, there are no longer any decorative elements on the tank and the Legacy’s LED headlight has been fitted with three crossbars.  That’s basically it with the changes.

Otherwise, the familiar features remain, such as the grille in front of the water cooling system, the bellows-equipped telescopic fork, the classically styled seat and the profiled footrests for better grip.

The wheels were covered with Pirelli “MT 60 RS” tires in the 120/70 ZR 17 and 180/55 ZR 17 format.

No technical changes either

There were also no purely technical changes.  It remains with the 689cc in-line two-cylinder with 73.4 hp (54 kW) at 8,750 rpm and 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm.  With a full 14-liter tank, 190 kg is given as the total weight.  Seat height is 855 mm.

At dealers, the Yamaha XSR700 Legacy in Speedblock Silver color scheme will be available from February 2023.

Yamaha XSR125

Yamaha also offers the retro scrambler look of the XSR700 for beginners.  The 125cc version is based on the R125.  It is equipped with a 37mm upside-down fork and the 17-inch wheels of the R125.

The round shape of the headlight and taillight, in keeping with the Sport Heritage philosophy, has also been adopted for the XSR125.  The engine produces 11 kW or 15 hp, making full use of the power limit permitted for this class.

The XSR125 will be available at dealers from April.  The colors Heritage White, Yamaha Blue and Impact Yellow will be offered.
