Many manufacturers transplant the same engine into different models, some of which differ in style and purpose. Honda could now do the same with the Africa Twin engine.

If you take it exactly, it makes perfect sense, because engine development is extremely expensive, which will probably not change due to increasingly strict regulations. It is simply cheaper to build a new frame around an existing engine and, if necessary, to adjust the engine for the new segment.

Many manufacturers go this way with different engines and so the 1,084 cc parallel twin of the Africa Twin could do, as indicated by patent drawings.

The drawings show two completely different chassis designs. However, it is still unclear whether and in which models they will be used.
