New models with proven quality

The Scrambler 1200 XE and X bring the familiar high-torque 1200cc Bonneville engine and off-road 21-inch front wheels that have distinguished the brand’s previous models.  However, the two new bikes not only bring proven features, but also set new accents in the already established scrambler category.

Engine and exhaust of the new Scrambler models

Both models are equipped with the 1200cc Bonneville Twin engine and the high-torque Scrambler mapping, which provides robust and dynamic performance.  Thanks to a new 50-mm throttle body and revised exhaust manifold, improved flow is achieved, which in turn guarantees a wider torque distribution in the upper rpm range – especially from 5,000 rpm into the red zone.

An added bonus is the significantly reduced heat radiation from the raised exhaust to the right driver’s leg, which noticeably increases ride comfort.

The 2024 models are precisely tuned to ensure balanced power delivery both on and off the road.  In the process, the peak output of 90 hp is now released somewhat earlier, at 7,000 rpm, and the maximum torque of 110 Nm is also now available earlier, at 4,250 rpm to be precise.

The powerful overall package is rounded off by the unmistakable, high-mounted dual exhaust system with brushed stainless steel silencers, which are responsible for the characteristic, deep Scrambler sound.

Scrambler 1200 X: A balancing act between tradition and modernity

With the Scrambler 1200 X, TRIUMPH creates a symbiosis of the popular features of this motorcycle category and modern elements.  The upright riding position and high torque that Scrambler fans worldwide appreciate are combined here with extensive equipment and contemporary features.  But not only technically, also visually the 1200 X moves between worlds by combining classic design elements with modern accents.

The features of the Scrambler 1200 X

The current model of the Scrambler 1200 X presents itself with a host of new features that should appeal to both technology enthusiasts and fans of classic motorcycle design.  One highlight is the new Marzocchi™ suspension, which features a 45 mm USD fork and shock absorbers with piggyback reservoirs and also impresses with adjustable preload and 170 mm of suspension travel both front and rear – optimized for confident use on the road.

But it’s not just the chassis that has been optimized.  TRIUMPH has also upped the ante in terms of rider technology, equipping the Scrambler 1200 X with advanced cornering ABS and disengageable, optimized cornering traction control for increased agility and safety.  The multifunctional instrument with integrated TFT display, five different riding modes including off-road option, and full LED lighting, which includes the characteristic headlight with daytime running light, a new compact tail light and slim and modern turn signals, complete the technical portfolio.

And for those who want to stay connected on longer trips, the 1200 X offers USB charging and accessory-enabled connectivity, including Arrow navigation and Bluetooth functionality for telephony and music enjoyment while riding.  In this way, TRIUMPH combines traditional motorcycle design with state-of-the-art technology and aims to set new standards in the scrambler class.

Scrambler 1200 XE: Where exclusivity meets adventure

The 1200 XE, as an evolved model, not only offers what the Scrambler 1200 X is all about, but takes it up a notch in terms of features.  Here TRIUMPH shows how top equipment and the unmistakable style of a Scrambler can be combined.  The 1200 XE promises not only on paper an impressive riding experience, but should also convince in practice with its versatility and its high-quality components.

Scrambler 1200 XE 2024: New dimensions and features

The Scrambler 1200 XE enters 2024 with a number of noteworthy updates designed to make the riding experience even more intense and comfortable.  In terms of brakes, the model boasts the latest generation Brembo Stylema® radial monobloc calipers, combined with floating 320 mm dual brake discs at the front and a single-piston Nissin caliper at the rear – for optimized braking performance and safety in any situation.

In terms of suspension, the 1200 XE relies on an optimized Marzocchi™ 45-mm USD fork and “twin-spring” shocks with piggyback reservoirs, as well as a fully adjustable Marzocchi™ suspension with a lush 250 mm of travel front and rear to offer maximum performance both on and off road.

A revised intake and exhaust manifold delivers wider top-end torque, promising even more dynamic power delivery.

Aesthetic and functional upgrades in the form of sleek new LED turn signals, a new compact LED taillight and additional styling details give the model a modern yet timeless look.

And to leave nothing to be desired on longer tours, TRIUMPH offers enhanced touring capability with optional accessories such as a tall windshield and a robust luggage system with panniers that are not only functional, but blend seamlessly with the Scrambler 1200 XE’s design.  In this way, the 2024 model once again combines tradition with innovation and presents itself as a strong overall package for lovers of cultivated Scrambler style.

Exclusive details: premium equipment for the Scrambler models

In the equipment of the Scrambler 1200 XE and X clearly shows the premium philosophy of TRIUMPH.  Both models feature the characteristic Scrambler tubular steel frame and side-mounted stainless steel spoked wheels with lightweight, durable aluminum rims.  Nevertheless, the two variants stand out from each other in terms of ergonomics, which is expressed in particular in the different design of the handlebars.  At 65 mm, the handlebars of the XE variant are noticeably wider than those of the X, which ensures improved control, especially off-road.  Thanks to rotatable risers, the handlebar position can be individually adjusted, while the XE also comes with a removable spacer that allows a height adjustment of 10 mm.  Furthermore, adjustable foot levers allow the XE to adapt to different riding styles and shoe models.

In terms of chassis construction, both models use dual-arm swingarms made of high-quality cast aluminum.  At 579 mm long, the swingarm on the XE is 32 mm longer than that on the X, resulting in an extended wheelbase for added control and confidence on challenging terrain.  In contrast, the X’s shorter wheelbase contributes to agile and responsive road performance.

When it comes to tires, both Scrambler models rely on high-quality Metzeler tires: While the X relies on the Karoo Street with a focus on on-road performance while maintaining off-road capability, the XE is equipped with the Metzeler Tourance, which emphasizes the bike’s balanced on-road and off-road characteristics.  For more extreme off-road conditions, TRIUMPH recommends the Michelin Anakee Wild.

New pricing and availability for Scrambler models.

TRIUMPH’s two Scrambler models, the 1200 X and XE, enter 2024 with a breath of fresh air in terms of pricing. Fans of the distinctive motorcycles can rejoice, as prices have been lowered compared to their predecessors, although the new models will be available in January 2024 with more features and improved performance.  In detail, the new pricing structure is as follows:

Conclusion: New standards in the Scrambler category

With the presentation of the new models of the Scrambler 1200 series TRIUMPH wants to raise the bar in the category a bit higher.  Both the 1200 X and 1200 XE embody a mix of tradition and modernity, reflected in both looks and technology.  While the 1200 X presents itself as particularly accessible and versatile, the 1200 XE offers an additional dose of exclusivity and features.  Both models are intended to appeal not only to fans of the brand, but also to all motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a classically inspired scrambler with a modern twist.
