The UniBo Motorsport Team, supported by Fondazione Ducati, celebrated its second consecutive victory in the MotoStudent International Competition 2023.

Triumph in the electric category: the road to victory

The UniBo Motorsport Team, under the auspices of Fondazione Ducati, has claimed an impressive victory in the 2023 MotoStudent International Competition.  This triumph in the electric category of the prestigious competition, which took place at the MotorLand Aragón Circuit in Spain from October 11-15, marks the team’s second consecutive victory.  This achievement is not only a testament to the team’s technical excellence and innovation, but also to the fruitful collaboration between the University of Bologna and Ducati.

Nemesi: The winning electric motorcycle

The winning motorcycle, Nemesi, is at the center of this success story.  It is an electric racing prototype developed through the constructive collaboration between the young students of the UniBo Motorsport team and the engineers of the motorcycle manufacturer from Borgo Panigale.  Nemesi features numerous technological innovations, including a chassis made entirely of carbon fiber and a powerful battery pack.  The motor’s peak power output is an impressive 48 kW, which underlines the team’s engineering skills and technical expertise.

Celebrations and recognition of the partnership

The victory celebrations took place at the Ducati Auditorium and were attended by high-ranking personalities such as Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, and Giovanni Molari, Rector of the University of Bologna.  On this occasion, the importance of synergy between the academic world and industry was emphasized, a collaboration that opens up new perspectives for both sectors and promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience.

Focus on education and innovation

The success of the UniBo Motorsport team in the MotoStudent Competition is also proof of the effectiveness of the educational approach adopted by Ducati and the University of Bologna.  Both institutions are founding members of the Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna (MUNER), which aims to train highly qualified engineers and introduce them to the world of work.  In addition, Fondazione Ducati is actively involved in the education and training of young talent through innovative learning programs such as “Fisica in Moto” and DESI.

MotoStudent: a platform for future engineers

The MotoStudent Competition offers a unique platform where students can demonstrate their technical, creative and collaborative skills in a highly competitive and specialized environment.  The success of Team UniBo Motorsport clearly demonstrates how valuable such practical experience is for students’ future careers in the motorcycle racing industry and engineering.
