Following Marc Marquez’s serious fall in Jerez, which broke his right upper arm, the former MotoGP World Champion has already had to undergo two operations. Rumors have been talking for some time about a third operation. This has now been carried out, as HRC has now announced.

The operation took place at the Hospital Ruber Internacional in Madrid and lasted eight hours. The team of doctors, consisting of Samuel Antuña, Ignacio Roger de Oña, Juan de Miguel, Aitor Ibarzabal and Andrea Garcia Villanueva, removed the previously inserted plate and replaced it with a new one. A bone graft was also performed. A piece of iliac crest bone was placed in the upper arm.

The reason for the further operation was a greatly delayed healing of the humerus. The surgical procedure was performed without complications.
