The RevoNEX electric motorcycle will be the first model that Kymco will build outside Taiwan.
“I’m very pleased to announce that mass production of RevoNEX will be made for the first time in a planned unit in Europe, making it the first electric product to be manufactured for global circulation under the Taiwanese brand ‘Made in Italy’ by Kymco,” said Ke Shengfeng, Chairman of Kymco’s parent company, the Gwangyang Group, during a press conference.
Kymco chose the manufacturing location not to compete with Energica, but because Europe will be the target market for RevoNEX. In addition, it should be easier to ship the batteries within Europe instead of importing them from outside.
It has not yet been announced whether production will be limited to just one model, or whether other models will also be produced in Italy in the future.
