KTM has unveiled the two models 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R for 2023. The two single-cylinder motorcycles get a small update and new graphics.
Engine and power
The familiar LC4 engine continues to provide propulsion, with 75 hp currently the most powerful production single-cylinder. The engine has meanwhile a 30-year development behind itself, which is already very remarkable. In 1987 one started with 553cc and meanwhile one has arrived at 693 cc.
Changes for 2023
The 690 Enduro R and the 690 SMC R get a revised LCD display, which allows you to read not only the speed but also the revs and in which the most important warning lights have been integrated.
New graphics and a new seat will also be available on the 2023 models.
Cornering ABS is integrated into both bikes. The Enduro also has an off-road ABS where the ABS effect on the front wheel can be reduced and even deactivated on the rear. The SMC R gets the Supermoto ABS instead of an off-road ABS, which basically enables exactly the same as on the sister model – at least KTM’s description sounds identical and you can assume that these are pure marketing names. In an off-road motorcycle, a Supermoto ABS probably raises some skepticism, just like an off-road ABS in a Supermoto.
Both models are equipped with a Euro 5-compliant stainless steel exhaust system.
Whether, or how the price will change, has not yet been announced.
