MotoGP – Portugal Grand Prix
22. April 2022 - 24. April 2022

Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Portuguese Algarve, the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve – colloquially known as Portimao, after the port city, half an hour outside of which it is located – opened on 2 November 2008 with 100,000 seats. The circuit was inaugurated by WorldSBK when they went to Portugal for their last race of the season – but it’s not just a race track. The Algarve’s Motorsports Park is a state-of-the-art complex with a breathtaking race track, a go-kart track, an off-road park, a hotel, an apartment complex, a technology park and a sports complex – it’s really a beehive.
As for the actual track layout, the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve has 15 corners – nine on the right, six on the left. The hilly landscape in Portimao is incredible, and the front straight will allow the drivers of MotoGP™ to stretch the legs of their machines properly before a unique descent leads into turn 1. There is a reason it is called a high speed roller coaster, it is a thrill for riders and fans alike.
