Due to the war in Ukraine, the EU has decided on further trade restrictions. According to media reports, motorcycles are classified as luxury goods and may no longer be delivered to Russia.
Export ban for all bikes above €5,000
European motorcycles worth more than €5,000 may no longer be exported to Russia. This measure is part of an extended list of bans and restrictions imposed by the EU because of the war in Ukraine.
However, not only motorcycles are affected; cars worth more than 50,000 euros are also on the list. Besides, also a long list of luxury goods such as caviar, horses, truffles, wines, cigars, perfumes, clothes, jewelry, precious metals, electronics, etc. Many spare parts such as gearboxes are also affected.
Separately, many companies have decided to stop exports to Russia, including Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, BMW and Polaris. Tire manufacturer Bridgestone has also stopped exports to Russia as well as production in Russia.
