Aprilia RS 660 will be launched in 2020

Last year, the Aprilia RS 660 was presented at the Eicma as Concept. This year it is shown as a pre-series version at the exhibition stand. It will be in stores mid / end of 2020.

Engine:

The engine was derived from the 1100cc V4 of Tuono and RSV4. The in-line twin with 660 cc makes 100 PS. It has a crank offset of 270 degrees. How much torque it generates? Aprilia has not revealed anything, but it should be “enough”. It meets the Euro-5 standard.

The engine was installed as a supporting part in a polished aluminum frame. The dry weight is given as 169 kg for the middle-class sport-bike.

 

optics:

At the front a double fairing was mounted, which positively influences the aerodynamics. It should offer more stability at high speeds.

An under-engine exhaust was used, which blends optically into the fairing and also positively influences the handling by the centralization of the masses. The end of the exhaust is on the right side. One can not talk about a exhaust pipe here, because the pipe is extremely short and forms a unit with the under-engine collector.

The aluminium swingarm is banana-shaped on this side to make room for the triangular exhaust end.

 

Equipment:

It is braked on the front with radially mounted Brembo calipers and two 320 brake discs. The adjustable 41 mm upside-down fork comes from Kayaba. In addition to cornering ABS, the Aprilia RS 660 has a traction and wheelie control, cruise control, Quickshifter (up/down), engine brake assist and ride-by-wire.

There are five different driving modes available. Two of them are intended for the race track. Freely configurable is a mode for the road and one for the racetrack.

The TFT display automatically adapts to day and night lighting conditions. The smartphone can be paired and among other things one can show the mobile phone navigation on the display.
