MotoGP – Deutschland Grand Prix
5. July 2019 - 7. July 2019
Since the twenties motorcycles and motorcycles races took place on closed public roads in the area of Chemnitz and were driven until 1990. However, it was decided that the eight-kilometer course in the densely populated area is not sustainable and a brand-new course, known as Sachsenring, was built in 1996 ten kilometers west of Chemnitz. Although the route was mainly used for driver training and as a road transport safety station, the first FIM MotoGP was driven on the Sachsenring in 1998. Since then, the track has often been improved to better use it for such events. Fixed boxes were installed in time for the 2001 season. Numerous tight bends make the Sachsenring one of the slow routes in the calendar, but there is never a lack of exciting racing action.
Data of the route:
- Length: 3.7 km
- Curves: 10 links – 3 right
- Width: 12 m
- Longest straight: 700 m
