Zarco sees himself as a Ducati driver not as a driver for Avintia

After the split between KTM and Johann Zarco, it looked as if the French MotoGP rider would leave the MotoGP. For Avintia he did not want to drive first, because it is not a top team.

After he was able to leave a good impression as a replacement driver on the HRC Honda, it was speculated on whether he would take Lorenzo’s place. After Lorenzo’s ended his career, the place went to Moto2 World Champion Alex Marquez.

Johann Zarco was persuaded by Gigi DallÌgna to sign with Avintia. He is rewarded with an additional factory support in the form of three technicians who are to be put to him.

In an interview, Zarco said he does not feel like an Avintia driver. He sees himself more as a Ducati driver and would like to change in 2021 in the Ducati factory team.

Whether this will ensure a good atmosphere in the team is questionable.
