Triumph is calling back the Street Scrambler and Street Twin 2019 / 2020, because the wiring harness might be misplaced.
Exactly affected are the models Street Scrambler 2019 – 2020 with the numbers SMTD44GN1KT920110 to SMTD44GN3LTAB9482 (manufactured between the 15th October 2018 and the 21st April 2020), as well as the Street Twin 2019 – 2020 with the numbers SMTD31GN3KT918702 to SMTD31GN6LTAB9140 (manufactured between the 4th October 2018 and the 15th April 2020).
A possibly incorrectly laid cable could be chafed by steering movements and lead to sudden stalling of the engine.
The recall was started on August 23rd, 2020. The wiring harness will be checked in the workshop and replaced if necessary. For safety reasons an additional protection is mounted.
The recall originates from the American area. Since motorcycles are usually built in one factory for the worldwide market, motorcycles from other markets could also be affected.
