The rise of Chinese motorcycle manufacturers
Chinese motorcycle manufacturers are no longer just known for inexpensive and basic two-wheelers. Increasingly sophisticated technologies are being incorporated into the latest models, not least through collaborations with European brands. CFMoto has already attracted attention with its collaboration with KTM. But there is another brand that has far more in store: QJ Motor. As one of the largest motorcycle companies from China, the brand brings not only mass, but also class.
Future vision thanks to partnership with MV Agusta
This class is particularly evident through its collaboration with MV Agusta. Among other things, it has been reported that QJ Motor is working on the development of a liter-class superbike, the SRK1000RR. Production is scheduled to start in 2024, with a presentation expected before the end of 2023.
Technical details: performance meets design
The SRK1000RR’s design appears to be heavily inspired by MV Agusta, particularly the Brutale 1000, with key technological elements such as the single-sided swingarm also reflecting the Italian signature. The frame consists of a lattice structure combined with an aluminum rear section.
Performance data: Competitive here, too?
When it comes to engine performance, however, QJ Motor does not go for the absolute maximum. Unlike the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 and its 208-hp 998cc engine, the SRK1000RR relies on a 921cc four-cylinder engine. This reportedly produces 129 hp (127 hp, 94.8 kW) at 10,500 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 8,100 rpm.
Conclusion
The SRK1000RR could be a game changer for QJ Motor in the world of high-performance motorcycles. The combination of in-house resources and MV Agusta’s technical expertise makes this an exciting motorcycle to keep an eye on, even if it’s not necessarily the most powerful in its class.
