The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition is being launched as a limited and numbered series of 555 units. This edition celebrates Ducati's highly advanced Superquadro twin-cylinder engine. It is characterized by high-quality components and an exclusive paint finish designed by Drudi Performance in collaboration with the Centro Stile Ducati.
This collector’s edition will be available from October 2024 and comes with a certificate of authenticity and a special motorcycle cover.
Technical excellence and history
Ducati’s Superquadro engine is based on a tradition of over 30 years that began with the development of 90° V2 engines with desmodromic valve timing and four valves per cylinder. These engines have powered famous models such as the 748, 749, 848, 899 and 959 and culminate in the current Panigale V2.
The first Superquadro engine was developed in 2011 for the 1199 Panigale. The name is derived from the ratio of bore to stroke, which led to extremely high performance values with a displacement of 1,285 cm³. Over the years, versions with a smaller displacement of 898 cc and 955 cc were also developed.
Nicolò Bulega secured the first Supersport World Championship title for Ducati with the Panigale V2 last year. Ducati also won the Supersport titles in the US MotoAmerica championship in 2022 and 2023.
Innovative design and performance
The technical solutions of the Superquadro engine set new standards. The crankcase is manufactured using the Vacural casting process and features pressed-in aluminum cylinder liners with NikaSil coating. This makes it possible to attach the cylinder heads directly to the crankcase. The covers for the head, clutch and oil pan are made of magnesium, which contributes to the compactness and rigidity of the engine.
The desmodromic valve timing uses DLC-coated rocker arms to reduce friction and increase fatigue resistance. The mixed chain/gear timing offers high efficiency and reliability.
The 955 cc Superquadro engine in the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition delivers 155 hp (153 hp, 114 kW) at 10,750 rpm and a torque of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. This performance is a joy both on the road and on the race track.
Unique design and equipment
The exclusive paintwork of the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition, designed by Drudi Performance, plays with the characteristic colors white, red, black and grey. The design harmonizes with the shapes of the motorcycle and discreetly integrates the engine graphics in shades of grey. The matt gray tank adds a modern accent.
Safety and control systems are based on a 6-axis inertial platform and include Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down (DQS) EVO 2 and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.
High-quality equipment and accessories
The technical basis of the monocoque chassis is complemented by Öhlins suspension and a steering damper. Adjustable Rizoma rider footrests made of billet aluminum and numerous carbon components, such as mudguards and chain guard, are part of the standard equipment. A lithium-ion battery reduces the weight. The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition is available as a single-seater.
A kit for removing the license plate and mirrors as well as a billet aluminum fuel filler cap are available for use on the racetrack. A GPS module for DDA data acquisition is already fitted.
