After the violent highsider at the warm-up for the MotoGP race in Indonesia, Marc Marquez is again suffering from diplopia, i.e. due to damage to an eye nerve he sees a double image.

Is there a threat of another lengthy period out of action?

After the highsider he already had to skip the race in Indonesia, because he could not be classified as fit for racing. Back in Spain he had himself examined again, because on the flight home he again had problems with his eyesight. A new injury of the fourth optic nerve in the right eye was detected.

This is the same injury that forced him to miss the last two races of the 2021 season. He was only able to get back on a MotoGP bike shortly before the start of the 2022 season, as it took a very long time for the double vision to go away.

In total, it is even the third time that Marc Marquez suffered from diplopia after a crash, and each time he had to take a break for several months. This means that it is not certain whether Marquez will be able to compete in the next races. Another examination is scheduled for next week. According to Marquez, however, this time it is not so bad.

We keep our fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!
