Cardo has developed a new installation standard for intercom devices, Universal Communication Solution (UCS), which is now also being adopted in a new helmet line from LS2.
LS2 adopts UCS in new helmet line
LS2 is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of helmets, whether for motorcycle or scooter riders. As announced at EICMA, the new standard for an integrated communication solution will be used in a new helmet line. Five USC-compatible helmets were unveiled at the Milan show. These are the new ADVANT model range with three system helmets and the INFINITY II and INFINITY II Carbon jet helmets.
Always the right size thanks to UCS
The helmets have standardized cutouts in accordance with the UCS standard, so that the LS2 4x communication system, which is also new, can be installed in just a few steps. The standardized sizes also make it easy to change or replace the system at a later date without having to compromise on fit or appearance.
As with car radios, the standard specifies the size of the device. USC thus facilitates the installation of compatible systems in new motorcycle helmets that comply with the new ECE 22.06 standard.
Cardo Intercom System for LS2
The LS2 4x was developed by Cardo and is based on the latest Bluetooth 5.2 technology, allowing four riders to connect at a maximum distance of 1.2 km.
The sound here is output via JBL speakers and “Natural Voice” voice control is also integrated. Like the other Cardo intercoms, the LS2 4x is prepared for wireless updates and is fully waterproof.
The new Open Bluetooth Intercom (OBI) standard also allows easy pairing with OBI systems from other manufacturers.
