After BMW announced a few days ago not to be present at Intermot or EICMA in 2020, KTM has now announced the same steps.
The background is the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Proper planning of such a major event is not possible due to the current situation and the uncertainty of how it will continue in the near future.
KTM sees the cancellation as an active contribution to avoiding the corona epidemic, as the large trade fairs gather hundreds of thousands of visitors in closed halls over days or even weeks.
Like BMW, KTM would like to present the new models to the public in alternative ways.
Hubert Trunkenpolz, CMO of KTM AG: “Trade fairs are important milestones for the entire motorcycle industry, but given the current situation, the health of people and the well-being of our employees is a higher priority. We are taking this path with great care and would be pleased as a company, if the trade fair organizers – especially the EICMA trade fair – would consider postponing the trade fair dates to 2021, because we hope and expect that the situation will normalize again by then. “
