In October 2019 Arc Motorcycles had to be put under administration due to insolvency. Previously, the company worked on the premium electric motorcycle Vector.
The power rating was around 140 HP and an incredible torque of 397 Nm. The battery from Samsung should be sufficient for a distance of 320 km in city traffic or 200 km on country roads and should be recharged by a fast charger within 30 minutes. Values that didn’t really sound realistic.
The fact that Arc Motorcycles was placed under the administration should also seal the fate of the Vector.
Arc Motorcycles is back?!
According to an interview of Arc founder Marc Truman with MCN, the search for buyers for Arc Motorcycles was not successful, so he decided to buy the assets of the company himself. Arc Motorcycles should now be back in business.
The brand’s homepage is back online, the social media channels are being served again and pre-orders for Vector are also being accepted. The current delivery date is summer 2020, but the data is likely to be outdated. In the interview, Truman said that the Vector will be delivered in about 12 months. The first ten customers will also be offered something very special, but Truman did not yet reveal what it is.
It is not quite clear whether the price of £90,000 will still include the helmet with head-up display from London luxury manufacturer Hedon and the jacket developed with Knox to give the rider haptic feedback.
Features of the Arc Vector
According to the data currently listed on the homepage, Vector gets suspension components from Öhlins and Brembo Stylema brakes. It should weigh 220 kg, need 3.2 seconds for 0 to 100 km/h, reach a top speed of 200 km/h, have a range of 436 km and be charged in 40 minutes.
