After BMW recently secured the rights to the name R12, they are now protecting the name Roctane.
Not much is known about the Roctane, only that the name will be used for a motorcycle. Unlike the R12, which will clearly be a little sister to the R18, it is not yet possible to say in which segment the Roctane will be located.
It is quite possible that the Roctane will be identical to the future R12. However, it should not be forgotten that BMW already presented the concept of the R18/2 in 2019, a low-slung and partially fairing version of the R18. In the meantime, the R18 is on the market and enjoys great popularity, but we still have to miss the R18/2.
It is quite possible that the R18/2 will be released under the name Roctane. However, this is still speculation at the moment.
