It is a steroid that affects protein build-up in the muscles and the development of male genital organs. However, a large muscle build-up is counterproductive for MotoGP riders because they must not put too much weight on the scales.
Iannone’s lawyer clarifies that only a small amount of the steroid has been found, so there is a possibility that it was accidentally ingested from eating Asian meat.
There will be a hearing on the case soon. Iannone faces a 4-year ban.
