The 2024 edition of the CBR500R remains true to its reputation as a balanced motorcycle, incorporating the latest technologies such as the Honda RoadSync system and up-to-date safety features to offer a combination of everyday practicality and sporty riding fun. With a carefully refined design and technological updates, Honda refines the riding experience without compromising the model's familiar efficiency and reliability.

Modern sportiness meets A2 compatibility

Since its market launch in 2013, the CBR500R has stood for a combination of sporty design and everyday performance.  Over the years, the model has constantly evolved without losing its original character – a motorcycle that is predestined for commuting as well as weekend trips and is easy on the budget.

Engine characteristics and performance data

At the heart of the CBR500R from 2024 beats a liquid-cooled 471 cc two-cylinder engine, which is characterized by lively revving and superior power delivery.  Nothing really changes in terms of performance.  With a layout ideally suited to the needs of A2 license holders, the engine delivers an output of 48 hp (35 kW, 47 hp) at 8,600 rpm.  This small powerhouse also provides a torque of 43 Nm, which is already available at 6,500 rpm.  The engine has been designed to offer an excellent balance between dynamics and efficiency, resulting in low fuel consumption and a long range.  The introduction of HSTC traction control and a new ECU set-up not only improves rideability, but also confidence in the bike in a wide range of road conditions.

The 2024 CBR500R remains true to its reputation as an efficient and robust motorcycle. The moderate fuel consumption of 3.5 liters per 100 kilometers and a range of over 485 kilometers per tank speak for themselves.

State-of-the-art design and electronics

For the 2024 model year, the CBR500R has been given a makeover that is noticeable both visually and technologically.  Inspired by the dashing Fireblade, the new fairing features sharper lines and a more aggressive front.  The vehicle is not only visually enhanced, but also in terms of safety thanks to the introduction of traction control, which Honda has given the name HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control).

Improved equipment for the modern biker

The progress also continues in the cockpit.  A 5-inch TFT screen, which enables connectivity with the Honda RoadSync system, brings modern smartphone functionalities to the bike.  Navigation, music control and telephony are just some of the conveniences that can be operated via the newly designed 4-way switch or voice control.

Chassis – sporty and refined

The CBR500R 2024 impresses with a chassis that combines sportiness with comfort and ensures confident road holding.  The high-quality 41 mm Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) upside-down fork is one of the highlights, enabling precise turn-in behavior and excellent feedback from the asphalt.  The spring preload is adjustable.

In addition, there is a sophisticated rear suspension with Pro-Link linkage and a Showa shock absorber (5-way adjustable spring preload), which ensures consistent performance even during demanding maneuvers.

The brake system, consisting of two 296 mm front discs with radially mounted Nissin four-piston brake callipers, promises powerful deceleration and guarantees safety, even at higher speeds.

With this well thought-out chassis package, the CBR500R delivers handling that should impress both when cornering at speed and in urban crowds.

Colors and customization

Honda offers two color options for 2024, including the vibrant Grand Prix Red and the stylish Matt Gunpower Black Metallic.

In addition, Honda offers specially tailored original accessories to further personalize the CBR500R.  Whether it’s the Racing Package for an even sportier touch or the Comfort Package for improved everyday usability, the customization options are diverse.

Summary

The CBR500R of 2024 combines tradition and progress in a motorcycle that is attractive to both new and experienced bikers.  With its design, technology and equipment, it is ready to meet the demands of modern motorcyclists.
