As reported, Harley-Davidson wants to use its hardwire strategy to refocus the company’s direction on its core business in the future. Part of this is also to stop sales on Amazon. CEO Jochen Zeitz wants to strengthen its own dealers.
It is not yet known when the Harley-Davidson branded clothing will disappear from Amazon. Currently, there are still enough items to be found on the sales platform. The hardwire strategy applies from February 2021, so the Amazon sales stops could also be implemented soon.
However, this does not mean that customers will only be able to get the corresponding products from Harley dealers in the future. They will still be able to order them online directly from Harley-Davidson. It is not yet known how Harley dealers who also offer their products via Amazon will fare. Whether this change will really strengthen the dealers remains to be seen.
