Energica, a company based in Modena (Italy), exceeded the 2019 sales figures alone in the first quarter of 2020 with the production of its electric motorcycles. Now they want to target a wider audience.
Energica specializes in the production of electrically powered motorcycles. They are currently the exclusive supplier for the standard motorcycles in MotoE.
In order to gain a foothold in the Asian market, an agreement was reached with Utomocorp, a leading retail and distribution company for motorcycles and scooters in Indonesia.
Indonesia is the third largest motorcycle market in the world after India and China.
Giacomo Leone, Marketing Director of Energica: “Indonesia is an important market for Energica. We are very pleased to welcome Utomocorp to our network. This new agreement can only improve our path of commercial development in Asia.”
The Indonesian government has set itself the goal of registering more than 2 million electric motorcycles by 2025. For this reason there is a corresponding need in this market that Energica would like to meet.
Denny Utomo, CEO of Utomocorp: “I think this is the right time for Utomocorp to enter the electricity market, especially in the premium segment. I have been following the path and progress of Energica since 2015. It is currently the leading brand in the industry that is second to none. “
