The Ducati Scrambler 1100 may experience problems with the exhaust flap cable. Incorrect routing could result in contact with the positive terminal of the battery, which could lead to a short circuit or even a fire. Machines manufactured between March 2018 and October 2020 are affected.
The recall originates from the American region. However, since motorcycles are usually built in a factory for global sales, other regions could also be affected.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Admnistration, 1072 machines are affected in the United States. Owners there should contact Ducati to arrange a repair. The workshop will install an additional guide for the cable, which should prevent contact with the positive terminal of the battery.
