Italdesign worked with Giorgetto Giugiaro on the design of the Ducati 860 back in the 70s. Now the design of that time has been adapted into the modern age for an electric motorcycle.
Brought into the modern age
Fifty years later, a video on social media unveiled the Ducati 860-E study. The iconic lines of the original were retained. Instead of a gasoline engine, an electric drive was incorporated into the design. The cooling fins of the V2 engine back then were adopted in the large battery unit.
No production planned
Italdesign was not commissioned to design this study. They themselves point out that this is only a style exercise and that production is not planned.
