George Woodman is a carpenter, furniture designer, interior designer and head of the custom forge “GeorgeWoodmanGarage”. Now he has finished a Yamaha XRS700 with a complete wood trim.
Already in other projects the customizer used wood around the headlights or the rear. However, the Yamaha XRS700 was given a full size wooden fairing. Countless hours were spent to sand and shape the beech wood fairing by hand. To protect it from the weather, it was then treated with a layer of resin and fiberglass, just like surfboards.
The result was given the name “Homage”. It was inspired by old racing motorcycles with full fairings.
But not only the fairing was changed, also other modifications were made. Components from Öhlins, Gilles Tooling or Rizoma were used, a K&N air filter and a XRace exhaust also found their way into the unique piece.
The paintwork was done by Jerome Lopez from Colorside.
The bike is currently for sale, but the price was not revealed on the homepage of George Woodman.
