Honda today introduced updates to the CBR500R, CB500X and CB500F models. Since some major changes were made to the three models only in 2019, it is not surprising that only minor changes were made for 2021.
As from 2021 all motorcycles in Europe that are registered for the first time will have to meet the Euro5 standard, the three models will be upgraded accordingly. Euro5 has lowered the limits for carbon monoxide emissions, hydrocarbon emissions and particulate matter.
However, the maximum performance of the three A2 models has been maintained. Just under 48 PS are available at 8,600 rpm and 43 m at 6,500 rpm.
The CB500X gets three new color and graphic designs for the European market. They are based on the big sister CRF1100L Africa Twin. The choice is Grand Prix Red, Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Metalloid White. With all color variations the rear subframe was painted in red.
The CB500F gets new graphics and two new color schemes. Grand Prix Red, Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic and the two new colors Candy Caribbean Blue Sea and Candy Moon Glow Yellow are available.
The CBR500R has not really been changed for 2021. The colors available here are Matt Axis Grey Metallic, Grand Prix Red and Pearl Metalloid White.
