CFMOTO 250SR Lite 2025 1 1

CFMOTO 250SR Lite: New lightweight model unveiled in the sports segment

With the launch of the CFMOTO 250SR Lite at the PETRONAS Malaysia MotoGP 2025, the manufacturer is expanding its model range in the sporty lightweight segment. The 250SR Lite adopts the sporty design of CFMOTO's larger SR models, while some technical details reflect the partnership with KTM. The close cooperation with KTM is evident, among other things, in the fact that CFMOTO competes in Moto3 with the RC 250 GP under its own colors and logos. Technically, the new 250SR Lite is based in part on the KTM 250 Duke.

Pricing and target group

With a starting price of just 9,988 Malaysian ringgit (around 2,000 euros / approximately 2,100 US dollars), the CFMOTO 250SR Lite is positioned well below many of its competitors. The price is even lower than some 150cc sports bikes, while the model is said to offer superior performance, according to the manufacturer.

Technical data and equipment

At the heart of the CFMOTO 250SR Lite is a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 249 cm³, DOHC valve control, and four-valve technology. The maximum power output is 27.1 hp (20.5 kW) at 9,750 rpm. The maximum torque is 22 Newton meters (Nm) at 7,250 rpm.

Power is transmitted via a multi-disc oil bath clutch with slipper function. In terms of chassis, CFMOTO uses a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock rear suspension. Braking is provided by a 292 mm brake disc with a two-piston caliper at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear.

The permissible total weight is 165 kg (approx. 364 lbs, ready to ride with all fluids). The tank holds 12 liters of fuel. The low seat height of 780 mm is designed to enable safe handling, especially for newcomers and riders of smaller stature.

Modern features and equipment

The 250SR Lite is equipped with a fully digital cockpit that clearly displays all important information. In addition, there are two USB charging ports (Type A and Type C) so that mobile devices can be charged on the go. The lighting system is completely LED-based, including the headlight, taillight, and turn signals.

The color palette includes Nebula Black, Gem Black, and Zephyr Blue paint finishes. When purchasing the 250SR Lite, buyers receive a two-year warranty with unlimited mileage and access to the online store for original parts from CFMOTO Malaysia.

Conclusion

With the 250SR Lite, CFMOTO presents a lightweight and affordable sports motorcycle that focuses on modern technology, extensive equipment, and a sporty design. The close collaboration with KTM is reflected in both the visual and technical aspects. The model is primarily aimed at beginners, price-conscious buyers, and fans of compact sports bikes. There are currently no plans to launch the model on the European market.
