New TVS Apache RTR 160 2V model unveiled: Now with dual-channel ABS and modern features

TVS Motors has unveiled the new Apache RTR 160 2V model in India. The most striking new feature is the dual-channel ABS, which is now standard and provides additional safety when braking. Following the redesign of the sporty Apache RTR 160 4V model at the end of 2024, the two-valve version is now also receiving a comprehensive upgrade.

Modernized technology and features

In addition to the improved braking system, the Apache RTR 160 2V also features new, aggressive LED twin headlights for better visibility. Three riding modes – Urban, Rain, and Sport – allow the rider to adapt the handling to the situation at hand. This puts the 2V model on par with the 4V version, which was introduced at the end of 2024 and has established itself as a sporty yet practical motorcycle for everyday use.

Smart connectivity and new features

A key highlight is the redesigned Smartxonnect cockpit. This display not only offers turn-by-turn navigation, but also a low fuel warning, race telemetry, a lean angle mode, and a crash alert system. These features take the Apache RTR 160 2V’s equipment to a new level in the entry-level segment.

Chassis, brakes, and tires

For the chassis, TVS relies on a combination of a telescopic fork at the front and gas-pressure-assisted shock absorbers at the rear. The braking system consists of a 270 mm brake disc at the front. Depending on the variant, either a 130 mm or a 200 mm disc is used on the rear wheel. The machine rolls on 17-inch wheels with a 90/90 front tire and a 110/80 rear tire.

Engine and technical data

At the heart of the bike is an air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a displacement of 160 cm³ and two-valve technology. It delivers 15.8 hp (11.6 kW) at 8,750 rpm. The maximum torque is 13.8 Nm (10.2 lb-ft) at 7,000 rpm. This makes the motorcycle suitable for both daily commuting and sportier riding.

Market position and target group

The new Apache RTR 160 2V is aimed at beginners and commuters who value a safe and modern motorcycle in the lower displacement segment. With the current redesign, TVS Motors closes the gap to the 4V version and continues to position the motorcycle as an attractive offering on the Indian market.
