Triumph Motorcycles has announced the launch of the Special Edition of the Trident 660.  This model is a tribute to Triumph’s historic racing success and in particular to “Slippery Sam”, a motorcycle that achieved legendary status in the 1970s.  The special edition is characterized by a modern design and additional technical features.

Design and technology in harmony

The striking design of the Trident Triple Tribute is inspired by “Slippery Sam” and features a modern interpretation of the white, blue and red color scheme, complemented by the number “67”.  This design is reminiscent of Triumph’s racing history and gives the motorcycle a unique appearance.  It is equipped with a color-coordinated flyscreen and a front spoiler as standard.

Performance and handling

At the heart of the Special Edition is the familiar 660cc three-cylinder engine.  With an output of 81 hp at 10,250 rpm and a torque of 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm, the engine offers a linear and smooth power delivery.  The riding experience is complemented by an optimized six-speed gearbox and the Triumph Shift-Assist for clutchless gear changes.

The Trident’s handling is renowned for its agility and confidence-inspiring feel on the road, helped by a seat height of 805mm and a wet weight of 189kg.  The high-quality equipment includes Showa upside-down forks and a Showa monoshock RSU with preload adjustment, which ensure light steering behavior and high controllability.

Equipment and customization

The Trident Triple Tribute sets itself apart from other models not only through its design, but also through its technological features.  Equipped with a Bluetooth module as standard, it enables the use of ‘My Triumph’ connectivity for navigation, telephone and music interaction.  In addition, Triumph offers a range of 32 accessories to further customize the motorcycle.

Availability

This special edition will be available from April 2024 and is limited to one year.  This makes the Trident 660 Special Edition an attractive option for motorcycle enthusiasts who want to combine a piece of Triumph’s racing history with modern technology and design.

The Trident 660 Special Edition embodies the combination of historical appreciation and contemporary technology, appealing to both long-time fans and new enthusiasts of the brand.  With its sophisticated design, advanced technology and balanced performance, the special edition offers a modern take on Triumph’s rich racing heritage.
