New chassis and noticeable weight reduction
The biggest innovation concerns the chassis. The redesigned tubular frame is still made of steel, but is combined with a newly developed aluminum swing arm. This component is designed to provide greater torsional rigidity while reducing weight. The front wheel is guided by a 43 mm upside-down fork from Showa, which provides 120 mm of suspension travel. At the rear, two Showa shock absorbers with external reservoirs and adjustable preload, also with 120 mm of suspension travel, are at work.
Alloy wheels with spokes and Metzeler Tourance tires reduce unsprung weight. The new wheel sizes (19 inches at the front, 17 inches at the rear) ensure greater agility and a noticeably direct riding experience.
The braking system has been significantly updated: the front axle now decelerates via a larger 320 mm disc in conjunction with a radially mounted four-piston caliper. At the rear, a two-piston floating caliper grips a 255 mm disc.
Advanced driver assistance systems and modern electronics
The 2026 model year sees the introduction of modern technology to the Scrambler 900: for the first time, it features lean-angle-dependent ABS (“Optimized Cornering ABS”) and lean-angle-dependent traction control. The ride-by-wire system offers three selectable riding modes (road, rain, off-road). In off-road mode, the ABS on the rear wheel is deactivated to provide more control on loose surfaces.
The new instrument display combines a classic round speedometer with a modern LCD display and integrated TFT screen. Among other things, it shows speed, RPM, selected gear, and riding mode. The optional Bluetooth module allows smartphone functions such as music control, call acceptance, and turn-by-turn navigation to be integrated. A USB-C charging port is also handy for when you’re on the go. Cruise control is available as an accessory.
Characterful engine with authentic sound
The Scrambler 900 continues to be powered by the proven 900 cc Bonneville twin with 8 valves and a 270-degree crankshaft. The engine delivers 65 hp (47.8 kW) at 7,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 80 Nm at 3,250 rpm. Power is transmitted via a five-speed gearbox and an X-ring chain. The high-torque two-cylinder engine is considered powerful and offers a throaty sound that is emphasized by the raised 2-into-2 exhaust system. An anti-hopping clutch with adjustable lever makes operation easier.
An A2 kit is available for beginners, which can be easily installed at a Triumph dealer and removed again once the full license has been obtained.
Typical scrambler look with modern details
Visually, the Scrambler 900 remains true to its line: the upright seating position, wide handlebars, and large front wheel give it its characteristic appearance. The bodywork has been deliberately slimmed down and sharpened for the 2026 model year. This includes a newly designed 12-liter tank with a striking design, new side covers, revised covers on the throttle unit, and modified heel guards.
At the front, there is a new retro-style LED headlight mount, narrower fenders, and updated fork guards. At the rear, a compact LED taillight, together with a redesigned seat and a narrower subframe, provide a harmonious finish. The black powder-coated engine covers, finely crafted cooling fins, hidden radiator, and neatly routed cables underline the high-quality overall impression. Triumph relies on the use of brushed aluminum and stainless steel, coated and anodized surfaces.
Three new colors and numerous customization options
Two new paint finishes are available for 2026: Matte Khaki Green with Phantom Black and Mineral Gray with Cosmic Yellow. Urban Gray with Jet Black remains in the range.
Over 120 original accessories allow for extensive customization – from off-road elements such as a high front fender, hand guards, and headlight protection to design upgrades such as a quilted seat or LED mini turn signals. FOX shock absorbers, heated grips, tank pads, luggage racks, and sturdy panniers are also available as options.
Maintenance and prices
According to Triumph, the Scrambler 900 comes with a two-year warranty with no mileage limit and a maintenance interval of 16,000 km (10,000 miles). The starting price in the United Kingdom is £10,395 (equivalent to approximately €12,180 or $12,890). The market launch in Germany and Europe is planned for March 2026.
