It is certain that Honda will present the upcoming Fireblade at the Eicma next week. Honda has now secured the name CBR1000RR-R, according to an EUIPO trademark application.

The Double-R from CBR1000RR stands for “Race Replica”, which is intended as an extremely sporty version for public roads. What could mean the third R, however, is completely open.
It probably will not be that those responsible at Honda have seen too much Pirates of the Caribbean and just like the „Ahrrr, ahrr, ahrrrrr“ of the pirates. They certainly something in mind, especially since one will certainly pronounce it as Triple R, which in turn could lead to confusion, as many are doing more reminiscent on Triumph-Motorcycles
It could well be that a special version will get the third R, because one can assume that Honda will bring at least two versions of the new blade on the market. In the current model, it was handled that way. In addition to the standard version, there is still the SP and the SP2, which is equipped with high-quality components and was built as a homologation model for the WSBK.
