New Suzuki emblem and future strategy: Fresh appearance, clear positioning

After more than two decades, Suzuki has redesigned its company logo for the first time. The familiar “S” remains, but has been modernized for the digital age. The new emblem is flatter and has a contemporary look thanks to its reduced, clear design. The previous look was reminiscent of a shiny, chrome-colored medallion, while the new generation emblem appears to be made from a solid metal block with bevelled edges. The striking chrome look that adorned Suzuki's fuel tank emblems for years has now given way to a high-gloss silver finish. According to Suzuki, this step not only serves to create a more modern look, but is also intended to reduce environmental impact.

The premiere of the new emblem has already been planned: it will be unveiled on concept models at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

Background: New brand strategy and slogan “By Your Side”

Suzuki justifies the reorientation with its new global motto “By Your Side.” The aim is to further emphasize customer proximity while underlining the brand’s transformation into a sustainable future. The company emphasizes that flexibility plays a key role in the constantly changing market environment. The modernization of the logo is part of a broader strategy with which Suzuki aims to position itself as an “infrastructure-oriented mobility provider that is closely connected to people’s lives.”

Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President of Suzuki, explains: “The new emblem embodies Suzuki’s long-standing commitment to creating valuable products with a focus on the customer, as well as our determination to tackle new challenges for the future. Under the corporate slogan ‘By Your Side’, we will continue to walk side by side with our customers, providing mobility solutions that are closely linked to their everyday lives and contribute to a sustainable future.”

Suzuki commits to the combustion engine: New technology strategy until 2025

At the same time, Suzuki remains clearly committed to the combustion engine as part of its current Technology Strategy 2025 plan. In addition to hybrid and electric drives, efficient gasoline engines will continue to play a central role in the model portfolio in the future. According to the company, it is working intensively on technologies such as high-speed combustion and low-friction components, which have been developed over many years to further increase the efficiency of its engines. Suzuki is also increasingly focusing on CO2-neutral and ethanol-based fuels.

Series production of the GIXXER SF 250 FFV, a flexible-fuel motorcycle that can run on fuel blends such as E20 ethanol, has been underway in India since January. Further models featuring this technology are set to follow in the course of the year. However, there are currently no plans to bring these vehicles to the European market.

This commitment to alternative fuels and highly efficient combustion engines follows the return of the GSX-R1000R Superbike to Europe and the UK. The model has recently been redesigned and now complies with the strict Euro5+ emissions regulations.

Conclusion

With its new emblem and a clear strategy for the future, Suzuki is sending a clear message: the brand remains true to its core values, but is modernizing its image and focusing on forward-looking technologies related to the classic combustion engine and alternative fuels.
