Pedro Acosta, former Moto3 World Champion and current leader of the Moto2 World Championship with a remarkable lead of 50 points, has taken the motorsport world by storm. The reigning Moto2 World Champion will remain loyal to GASGAS and with his ability to develop and maturity will move up to next season’s premier class alongside Acosta.
Pol Espargaró: a new role with a weighty presence
The path that 32-year-old Pol Espargaró is taking is a mixture of dedication and an unselfish view of the future of motorsport. Although the Spaniard was originally contracted to GASGAS for 2024, his role next year includes six wildcard appearances as a test and reserve rider. Despite a string of setbacks and challenges, including five crashes at Misano and a 15th-place finish at Motegi, Espargaró looks forward with an attitude of collegiality and support for emerging talent. He stresses that his decision to take a step back was the result of joint discussions and a recognition of the contractual challenges of the Pierer Group.
