“Custom World”: International conversions in the spotlight
As every year, the Royal Enfield Custom World stand is a central element in the W&W Village at the Cité de l’Océan. For 2025, the Indian manufacturer has put together a particularly international line-up: Conversions from Japan (Sureshot), Germany (Kingston Custom), Great Britain (Sideburn Magazine) and Bali (AMS Garage) show how classic platforms such as the Interceptor or Continental GT can be creatively interpreted.
The individual pieces on show represent what Royal Enfield stands for: a foundation steeped in tradition combined with global custom creativity.
Full throttle on the Jaizkibel: The “SAMURAI” at Punks Peak
Wednesday is all about sprinting: Royal Enfield’s latest racer – the SAMURAI – thunders over the serpentines of Mont Jaizkibel at the traditional Punks Peak Race. The bike is based on the familiar 648 cc parallel twin, but has been bored out to 865 cc with an S&S Big Bore Kit.
The conversion comes from Takuya Aikawa (Sureshot) and has been uncompromisingly trimmed for sprint performance. Royal Enfield does not provide exact performance data, but with the upgraded engine, over 80 hp (approx. 59 kW) and a noticeable increase in torque (estimated at over 70 Nm) should be possible.
After the race, the SAMURAI will be part of the ArtRide X exhibition at the Biarritz Skatepark, where visitors can also enjoy a live art installation by the Pistache Brothers and limited edition T-shirts.
Ride outs, wall of death and concerts: Wheels & Waves as a complete experience
Wheels and Waves is much more than just motorcycles. The festival is a multi-spot event that combines France and Spain. In addition to the W&W Village, stations such as the Hipódromo in San Sebastián (El Rollo Dirt Track) or Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle (Race of the Lords) are part of the program.
Royal Enfield is supporting several program items – including the “Cash for Tricks” skate contest on Saturday and a joint Riders Club Europe ride-out with Vintage Rides on Friday. Further highlights at a glance:
- Wall of Death: Daily shows directly in the Village
- Live concerts & DJ sets: Every evening on the Ocean Stage
- Duo Log Surf Contest: Depending on the wave conditions at the Plage de la Milady
- Trial, BMX and skateboard shows: Spread throughout the festival
- Backyard Project & Awards: Focus on DIY bikes
- Vintage Rally & Race of the Lords: classic races in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle
- El Rollo Dirt Track: On Saturday in San Sebastián
With Royal Enfield to Goa: Win a trip to Motoverse 2025
A special highlight is the raffle for a motorcycle trip to Goa, which Royal Enfield is organizing among all festival visitors. The main prize: two tickets to Motoverse 2025, including participation in the “Into the Motoverse” tour.
This guided motorcycle tour covers 1,100 km (680 miles) through the Western Ghats, passing places like Hampi, Jogg Falls and the Badami Caves. The route promises plenty of curves, culture and nature – ideal for those who combine motorcycle tours with adventure and soul.
Participation is possible directly at the Royal Enfield stand in Biarritz or at other events such as the ABR Festival. The closing date for entries is June 29, 2025, and the winner will be announced on July 2.
