From late starter to top athlete
At 32, Hoff got a comparatively late start in road racing, but began his career in earnest in 2015. After competing in hill climbs in 2018, he shifted his focus to road racing and quickly rose to become one of the leading competitors in the IRRC series.
The road to the TT
Hoff’s path to the TT was characterized by steady progress. “The hill climbs were a great experience and the enthusiasm for them led me to road racing,” explains Hoff. After his eighth place in the 2022 championship and the recommendation of his compatriot David Datzer to gain more experience first, Hoff decided not to compete in the TT until 2024.
Successes and preparations
After a successful year in the IRRC, which included double victories in Schleiz and further podiums in Horice, Chimay and Frohburg, Hoff feels ready for the TT. “Another season in the IRRC has paid off,” he says. Hoff has already visited the TT circuit twice, completed numerous laps in the car and prepared intensively with onboard recordings and simulation games.
Goals and expectations
Hoff is going into his TT debut with realistic expectations: “My main goal for 2024 is to stay safe and have fun. This is a long-term project. I want to increase my speed and get used to the track.” Hoff hopes to achieve similar success to Lukas and Erno in their first year and to improve year on year.
