Golden rims and exclusive equipment
The most striking feature of the Gold Edition is undoubtedly the gold anodized spoke wheels, which are now also being used on the larger 700 model for the first time. Previously, they were reserved exclusively for the X-Cape 650. The wheels are tubeless and fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires as standard – a clear commitment to off-road expertise.
But the Gold Edition is not only visually distinctive: Heated grips and a heated driver’s seat are fitted as standard and are designed to provide greater comfort in cool weather. Also on board is a new traction control system that can be completely deactivated – a welcome feature for off-road use.
Proven drive, solid technology
Technically, the Gold Edition is based on the familiar X-Cape 700. The liquid-cooled two-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 698 cm³ produces 70 hp (51.5 kW) at around 8,500 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 68 Nm. This provides sufficient power for touring and off-road use.
The chassis remains with the tried and tested combination: an adjustable Marzocchi telescopic fork at the front and a KYB monoshock with remotely adjustable spring preload at the rear. Deceleration is provided by Brembo brakes in combination with a switchable Bosch ABS. An anti-hopping clutch ensures greater riding stability at sporty speeds, while the centrally positioned exhaust and a robust engine guard underline the off-road capability.
Premium-level technology package
The seven-inch TFT color display comes as standard and offers app-based navigation, tire pressure monitoring and the display of an integrated dashcam. Two USB ports (type A and type C), hand protectors, LED lighting technology all round and a kickstand complete the comprehensive equipment package. Another new feature is an adjustable windshield, which is intended to provide additional protection on longer tours.
Price and availability
With a price of 7,940 euros (approx. 8,600 US dollars), the Gold Edition of the X-Cape 700 also remains true to its line: lots of equipment at a comparatively low price. The color palette includes the variants Red Passion, Carrara White and Black Ebony. Sales will start in June 2025 via Moto Morini’s Italian dealer network. It is not yet known if and when this special edition will also be available in other markets.
