Michael van der Mark has to miss the tests in Misano because he broke his leg last Sunday after a fall during mountain bike training.
During surgery, the bone was aligned and fitted with an external fixator. Until the bone has healed and the fixator can be removed, the BMW rider will be dependent on a wheelchair or crutches.
The 2022 SuperbikeWM officially starts on April 08. Whether Van der Mark will be fit to race again by then is questionable. BMW plans to test for the new season on March 25 and 26 in Barcelona, as well as April 04 and 05 at MotorLand Aragon. Here, too, Michael van der Mark will probably not be able to participate.
