Marc and Alex Márquez in an unusual drag race – Ducati Panigale V4 S vs. Audi RS e-tron GT

Audi and Ducati have once again staged an acceleration duel, but this time with a special line-up. Instead of professional test drivers or well-known car influencers, the two most successful MotoGP riders of the season competed against each other in 2025: Marc Márquez and his younger brother Alex.

More Information

The two not only competed against each other, but also switched between the machines. A Ducati Panigale V4 S with standard equipment and an Audi RS e-tron GT, also with standard equipment, were used.

Starting position – familiar opponents, new drivers

These two vehicles had already faced each other in a drag race in October 2024. At that time, Ducati test rider Alessandro Valia and Carwow presenter Mat Watson dueled it out. The Panigale narrowly prevailed.

For the new edition, Marc and Alex Márquez took turns playing the roles of motorcyclist and car driver. This significantly increased not only the speed but also the dynamics of the competition.

Key technical data – power on two and four wheels

The Ducati Panigale V4 S delivers 216 hp (159 kW) to the road, with a very favorable power-to-weight ratio that is roughly twice as good as that of the Audi. As an electric vehicle, the Audi RS e-tron GT offers high torque from a standing start and all-wheel drive, but is significantly heavier.

Race progress – two races, two photo finishes

In the first race, Marc Márquez started on the Panigale, while Alex sat in the Audi. The RS e-tron GT got off to a better start, but the Ducati was able to catch up on the second half of the track thanks to its power and acceleration. At the finish line, only a photo finish separated the two.

In the second race, the brothers swapped vehicles. Here, too, a close duel developed, with no clear dominance again. Both races ended so close that a clear winner could not be named.

Humor and sportsmanship

The duel was accompanied by light-hearted banter and playful rivalry between the brothers. Even before the start, there was a dispute over the choice of vehicle, with “rock, paper, scissors” even being used. After the two races, they agreed to postpone the decision until another time – with a joking announcement of a rematch.
