JD Stunts aims for two new daring world records

Jonny Davis, better known as JD Stunts, is planning a spectacular weekend. The British stunt rider wants to set two Guinness World Records at Elvington Airfield. To do so, he will be using his specially modified Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, which has been adapted for these extraordinary challenges.

Wheelie on the tank at over 190 km/h

The first record attempt involves a wheelie, with Davis sitting directly on the fuel tank instead of on the seat. To make this possible, the fairing of the ZX-10R was removed and the tank modified so that it could serve as a seat.

Another technical problem had to be solved with the brake system: since Davis cannot reach the rear brake lever from the tank, it was moved to the handlebars – similar to a scooter brake system.

In unofficial tests, he has already reached 118 mph (around 190 km/h). This is significantly higher than his own existing world record of 108 mph (around 174 km/h).

Reversing at over 255 km/h

The second record attempt sounds even more extreme. Davis wants to break the world record for the highest speed in reverse on a motorcycle. He will sit with his back to the direction of travel and aim for a speed of more than 159 mph (about 256 km/h).

Experience with crazy stunts

Extreme stunts are nothing new for Davis. He previously set a Guinness World Record in Elvington by being “skited” behind a Kawasaki H2 SX on specially made shoes. He reached a speed of 159.552 mph (257 km/h).

We will see this coming weekend whether he succeeds in setting the two new records.
