For the Isle of Man TT 2020, the schedule has been revised. It aims to achieve an improved audience experience and optimized circumstances for teams, riders, mashals and residents, at least these are the official reasons.
Rob Callister MHK, Political Member with responsibility for tourism and motorsport, commented: “The proposed new schedule has been designed to optimise qualifying conditions and offer shorter race days, reducing the pressure placed on competitors, teams, volunteers and officials. This new format is also designed to minimise the impact that racing has on local residents and businesses with more clearly defined road closure schedules including the more definitive first weekend qualifying timetable and cutting the duration of road closures during race week which result in clearer, easier to follow road closure timetables. This will bring benefits to rider, visitors and locals throughout the TT period.”
On the Isle of Man, there have been discussions for some time about the circumstances for the residents. During the TT they suffer from the constant traffic jams. Also a conversion of the route was and still is discussed.
With the new schedule one would probably like to accommodate the local residents. In addition, the removal of the ZeroTT (class for electric motorcycles) necessitates a new timetable.
It is also quite possible that the protests of the residents have favored the cancellation of the ZeroTT …
The new schedule will now be forwarded to the Infrastructure Authority for approval.
In addition, a new off-track entertainment program is planned for 2020. What this is exactly what you want to betray but only on the Motorcycle Live in Birmingham on 16 November.
