Ducati’s “Campioni in Pista” event will take place in picturesque Madonna di Campiglio at the end of January 2024. In addition to the presentation of the 2024 motocross team, the MotoGP and WorldSBK teams for the coming year will also be unveiled. With Francesco Bagnaia, a three-time world champion, and Enea Bastianini, the 2021 Moto2 world champion, in the MotoGP team and Alvaro Bautista and Nicolo Bulega in the WorldSBK team, Ducati is relying on experienced and successful riders.
Maddii Racing Team: Ducati’s partner on the race track
At the heart of Ducati’s motocross plans is the collaboration with the Maddii Racing Team, led by Marco Maddii. Prominent riders such as Alessandro Lupino, who won the 2021 Motocross of Nations with Team Italy, and nine-time motocross world champion Antonio Cairoli are expected to support Ducati in testing and developing the new bike.
Potential debut of the new motorcycle
There is speculation that the new Ducati motocross bike could be unveiled during the event. If this is the case, the Internazionale d’Italia Motocross in Riola Sardo, Sardinia, at the beginning of February would be an ideal place for the debut. Otherwise, the first race of the Italian Motocross Championship in Mantova at the beginning of March could provide the setting for the premiere.
Triumph as a competitor in the motocross scene
The comparison with Triumph, which is also entering the motocross world, is interesting. Triumph has already presented its motorcycle and the associated teams and riders for the races in Europe and the USA, with their first race scheduled for early February in Detroit.
