Dean Harrison wins again: Second Superstock victory at the Tourist Trophy 2025

Dean Harrison has secured his fifth TT victory at this year's Tourist Trophy 2025 on the Isle of Man.  In the second round of the Superstock class, held under the title Opul Superstock TT, the Honda works rider dominated the race and relegated Davey Todd (Monster Energy by 8TEN Racing BMW Motorrad) to second place with a lead of 16.03 seconds.  Michael Dunlop (MD Racing BMW) completed the podium, achieving his 50th podium at the TT - another milestone in his impressive career.

Successful race despite delayed start

Due to rainfall during the night, the start of the race was delayed by almost four hours – from the original 10:45 am to 2:30 pm.  As soon as the race was open, Harrison got off to a perfect start and immediately took the lead.  By Glen Helen, his lead over Todd was already 2.2 seconds, while Ian Hutchinson (moobob/MLav Racing BMW) initially lined up in third place.

Early lead and technical misfortune for the competition

Michael Dunlop struggled with problems at the start.  At Braddan Bridge, he went wide off the line and initially fell a long way back – by Glen Helen he was already 17.2 seconds behind Harrison.  Todd was also unlucky: after a strong first stint and a close duel with Harrison, his BMW did not restart immediately after the mandatory pit stop.  This cost him around ten seconds – too much to attack again later in the race.

Exciting chasing duels behind the leaders

While Dean Harrison defended and extended his lead, the pursuers fought close battles.  James Hillier (Muc-Off Racing Honda) was in fourth place at one point, just ahead of local riders Conor Cummins (Burrows Engineering/RK Racing BMW) and Nathan Harrison (H&H Motorcycles Honda).  Thanks to a quick pit stop, Hillier was even able to temporarily beat Cummins.  Josh Brookes, who was riding the Jackson Racing Honda, also moved into the top ten as the race progressed.

Harrison extends his lead and rides to a commanding victory

At the halfway point of the race, Dean Harrison had extended his lead to over 13 seconds.  By the time he reached Ramsey, the gap had even grown to 17.5 seconds.  On the final lap, he left nothing to chance: With an average speed of 132.580 mph (213.38 km/h), he brought the Honda Superstock to the finish line in commanding style.  Todd, who set his personal fastest lap at 133.099 mph (214.20 km/h), had to settle for second place – a strong result after his technical incident.  Dunlop, who moved up again despite the early slip-up, completed the podium with an average speed of 132.126 mph (212.72 km/h).

Dunlop with historic 50th podium finish

It was a very special result for Michael Dunlop: with his third place, he achieved his 50th podium in the Tourist Trophy – an achievement reserved for only a few drivers.  James Hillier also showed consistency once again, finishing fourth with an average speed of 131.569 mph (211.74 km/h).  Behind him, the battle for fifth place raged, which was ultimately won by Conor Cummins with 131.528 mph (211.68 km/h), just ahead of Josh Brookes (131.407 mph / 211.48 km/h).
