New safety features thanks to Crash Detection System
The PACKTALK PRO is the first communication system of its kind to integrate a newly developed crash detection system. This system is able to detect accidents and send a text message in an emergency. It consists of three main components: an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), the Cardo Connect app and the Cardo Cloud.
The IMU quickly detects unwanted movements of the helmet that could indicate an accident. This data is then forwarded to the Cardo Connect app on the smartphone, which processes additional information. If the app detects an accident, it sends a message to the Cardo Cloud, which then informs the stored emergency contact via SMS.
Cardo Systems has carried out extensive tests and analyses to ensure the accuracy of this system. This included numerous crash tests and the continuous collection of data from motorcyclists worldwide. The learning algorithm of the Crash Detection System is constantly improving thanks to this data.
Sound quality and practical functions
The PACKTALK PRO is equipped with 45mm JBL speakers, which are designed to provide good sound quality whether listening to music or communicating. In addition, the system has an automatic on/off function based on IMU technology. The device switches itself off when it is not in motion and reactivates itself as soon as the journey begins. This is designed to save energy and extend battery life.
Robust design and comprehensive connectivity
The PACKTALK PRO is IP67 waterproof and therefore protected against water and dust. It supports the Bluetooth® 5.2 standard and enables wireless “over-the-air” software updates. An integrated FM radio with station memory is also available. Universal Bluetooth intercom functionality enables connection with communication systems from other brands. The magnet-supported “Air Mount” bracket makes mounting easier.
Availability and price
The PACKTALK PRO will be available in stores from the end of June 2024 at a price of 469.95 euros (approx. 500 USD). The existing PACKTALK EDGE model will remain in the range.
