Brembo has unveiled a new compound for their brake pads that aims to provide race-ready performance for the daily commute on the road.
The SR compound brake pads are said to provide consistent performance even in hot conditions. The SR will replace Brembo’s SC compound. They are sintered pads designed for sporty riders who put a lot of stress on their brakes.
Where the previous SC pads lost performance due to heat (above 250 degrees), the SRs hold up even further. Only from 400 degrees they also start to overheat, so only 150 degrees later than the SC pads.
The new compound meets ECE R90 homologation and is therefore approved for road use. They also work in wet or cold conditions.
