Aprilia RS 660 Trofeo: A limited edition model for the racetrack

Aprilia unveiled the RS 660 Trofeo as an exceptional edition, characterized by its limited availability and specialization for track use.  With a production of only 28 units, this motorcycle embodies the synthesis of Aprilia’s extensive racing expertise and the need for customized, race-oriented motorcycles.

A look at the equipment

The Aprilia RS 660 Trofeo is based on the basic RS 660 model, but differs in a number of adaptations made specifically for use on the racetrack.  The motorcycle was developed and manufactured directly by Aprilia’s racing department as part of the Factory Works program.  Changes include the removal of the ignition lock system and ABS, while retaining the ABS control unit to utilize the strategies of the integrated electronic system.  The braking system has been simplified and the engine control unit (ECU) has been reprogrammed with a special tune that delivers full power.  This includes tuning to a racing exhaust system from SC Project.

To optimize the driving dynamics, the RS 660 Trofeo has an updated suspension.  The front suspension is equipped with an adjustable Misano by Andreani internal cartridge system for compression, rebound damping and preload.  At the rear, an Öhlins AP948 shock absorber is used, which is also fully adjustable.

The chassis has been revised to further improve the riding characteristics.  The seating position has been lowered through the use of a new triple clamp and adjustable clip-ons.  The footrests are also adjustable and the dry weight has been reduced to 153 kilograms.

Price and availability

The RS 660 Trofeo is priced at 21,500 US dollars, which underlines its positioning as an exclusive, race-ready motorcycle.  Given the limited number of units and the specialized equipment, this model is aimed at riders who are looking for a special experience on the racetrack and value exclusivity.
